Donation opportunities

Thanks to the generosity of our awesome supporters inside and outside of our community, Clarkston Fire was able to use the proceeds from this year’s and last year’s Bigfoot fundraisers to buy 12 brand new handheld radios. While they don’t solve all of our communication problems, they are a huge leap forward and it was only possible because of everyone that supports and believes in us. Thanks to everyone that contributed their hard earned money, time, effort, auction items, event space, and anything else I may have forgotten!

The communities in and around the Clarkston area are continuing to have a significant amount of growth with no sign of slowing down. As a result, there is more demand than ever on Clarkston Fire and the exposure is shifting to that more aligned with a city department. While we do still have a significant wildland fire exposure, we have been seeing more structure fire calls, more medical calls, and more vehicle accidents. As such, Clarkston Fire’s equipment needs are growing and changing also. Immediate needs include a new life pack and cot for the ambulance, new radios for some of the trucks, a repeater for better operation of our tactical channel, equipment upgrades for our engines, and training programs for all of our personnel. Longer term needs include a bigger fire station.
